Students will become technologically proficient by developing familiarity in manipulating an integrated software package consisting of word processing, spreadsheets, databases and telecommunications. This objective will be met initially by computer course offerings in the laboratory setting. We seek depth of learning in one software package versus coverage of several packages.
The
specific educational tools which computer technology can provide, ranging from
access to the Internet, library research opportunities, CD-ROM and subject
specific educational software, will enhance our faculty’s ability to provide
more information in more complex settings.
Students
will be knowledgeable of programming languages and how they are utilized in the
development of a program.
Students
will be knowledgeable of the capability of graphic, publication, and CAD/CAM
programs.
Students
will access and explore the “
Electronic
mail will be utilized for communication among students, staff and parents.
Web
pages will provide information on activities, staff, and school data.
Administrative
tasks will be automated (e.g. , attendance, faculty and students schedules,
student records, keyword share lesson plans and grade courses of study).
Classroom
instruction will be supported with software and peripherals for display to
large groups.
DISTRICT
TECHOLOGY PLAN
VISION
Technology use will be incorporated
throughout the district and will be
utilized throughout the
curriculum. Each school will be
networked, utilizing
integrated communications
software. With at least one computer in
every
classroom, in addition to clustered
computers, students and staff will have easy
access to computers. Staff members will be technologically
proficient.
Ultimately, written communication
and dissemination of information will
be accomplished electronically.
Students will use technology as an
integral tool in their academic and
non-academic development. Students will be comfortable with and
competent in present
technology. They will be open to both
contributing
to and applying future technology.
