The South Carolina Department of Education recently released the 2022-2023 school year results of the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics and South Carolina Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (SCPASS) in Science given in the elementary and middle school grade levels.
“We are proud to continue our tradition of excellence on these state assessments,” Superintendent Dr. Beth Taylor stated. “Our scores in certain grade levels are exceptional and we are very impressed with the gains we made in certain grade levels and subject areas.”
According to a South Carolina Department of Education press release, the most recent math results show a state-wide need to prioritize more evidence-based practices and simplify state standards. District 52 students scored above the state average in the Meets or Exceeds category in every grade level of ELA, Math, and Science. The district is excited about where our grade levels ranked across the board.
SC READY ELA Academic Achievement (Percentage of Students Meets/Exceeds)
SC READY Math Academic Achievement (Percentage of Students Meets/Exceeds)
SCPASS Science Academic Achievement (Percentage of Students Meets/Exceeds)
“These scores continue to present a positive reflection of the outstanding work of the teachers in our district,” Dr. Taylor stated. “We have worked extremely hard to help all of our students reach their full potential as learners. Our community remains committed to holding education at the forefront and strives to see all of our students succeed. Our main objective this school year is to continue working together as a T.E.A.M. and make a difference in the lives of all of our students.”
