The South Carolina Department of Education recently released the 2021-2022 school year results of the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics and South Carolina Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (SCPASS) in Science given in the elementary and middle school grade levels.
At the October Board meeting, 4th and 5th grade teachers from Ninety Six Elementary school were recognized for their students’ achievement on recent statewide assessments.
“We are proud of our district’s continued success on these state assessments,” Superintendent Dr. Beth Taylor stated. “Our scores in certain grade levels are exceptional and we are very impressed with the gains we made in certain areas despite the missed learning due to the pandemic.”
According to a South Carolina Department of Education press release, the SCPASS and SC READY Assessment results “confirm the impacts caused by the pandemic.” District 52 noticed the impact of the pandemic especially in our 8th grade scores in mathematics and ELA. Despite the impact of the pandemic, District 52 is excited about where our grade levels ranked on the SC READY and SCPASS tests.
SC READY ELA Academic Achievement (Percentage of Students Meets/Exceeds)
SC READY Math Academic Achievement (Percentage of Students Meets/Exceeds)
SCPASS Science Academic Achievement (Percentage of Students Meets/Exceeds)
“These scores are a reflection of the outstanding work of the teachers in our district,” Dr. Taylor stated. “They have worked hard to help all of our students reach their full potential as learners. We are blessed to live in a community that values education and strives to see all of our students succeed. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence in academic achievement and making a difference in the lives of all of our students.”
