The South Carolina Department of Education recently released the 2024-2025 school year results of the South Carolina College and Career Ready Assessments (SC READY) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.
Superintendent Beth Taylor said, “I could not be more excited about the growth we continue to see in our state test scores. Our students are performing at high levels across several grade levels and, in some instances, outperforming the state averages.”
District 52 continued to make significant strides in ensuring students met or exceeded the state’s rigorous 75% proficiency goals in Math. District 52 outperformed the state average scores in Grades 4 - 8, meeting or exceeding standards in the subject area of Math.
District 52 also exceeded the state average scores in Grades 3 - 4 and Grades 7 - 8, meeting or exceeding standards in the subject area of ELA. The trend of outperforming the state average in meeting or exceeding standards also continued in the subject area of Science in Grades 4 and 6. The state’s press release states that more South Carolina students are reading on grade level since SC READY was first administered in 2015 - 2026. The press release also states that student teachers have become better equipped with the necessary tools to provide students with quality instruction, which directly impacts student achievement and understanding, especially in ELA.
“These scores are a reflection of the dedication of the teachers, the commitment of our students, and the support of our families,” Dr. Taylor stated. “Together, we are proving what is possible when a community comes together around student success. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence in academic achievement and working together to continue producing future leaders.”
