Elly Woody Named Director of Benefits and Accounts Payable

Greenwood School District 52 has named Ellyn “Elly” Deal Woody as its new Director of Benefits and Accounts Payable. During her more than a decade of professional career, Woody has served in a variety of roles in payroll, benefits administration, and human resources leadership. 

In her new role with the district, Woody will oversee district benefits administration, accounts payable operations, and related financial and compliance processes to support employees. Woody most recently served as Payroll & Benefits Supervisor for KEMET/YAGEO in Simpsonville, supporting hundreds of employees across the US in multiple entities. Her career began at Lander University in human resources, where she spent several years. 

Woody holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lander University, with an emphasis in management and marketing.  She is also a Ninety Six High School alumni.  

Woody is married to Eric Woody, and they have a five-year-old son. 

“I am excited to return home and join Ninety Six Schools to support the employees who serve our students and community each day,” Woody said. “I look forward to bringing my experience in payroll, benefits, and compliance to ensure our systems are efficient, accurate, and responsive to the needs of our staff.”

Executive Director of Business, Jennifer Fleming, said Woody’s background will be an asset to the district.

“Elly brings a strong depth of knowledge in payroll and benefits administration, along with a proven track record of leadership and attention to detail,” Fleming said. “Her experience managing complex systems and supporting employees makes her an excellent fit for this role.”

Woody replaces Jennifer Fleming, who was recently named the district’s new Executive Director of Business.
