The South Carolina Department of Education recently released the 2025-2026 school year results of the South Carolina College and Career Ready Assessments (SC READY) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.
Superintendent Beth Taylor said, “I could not be more proud of the continued growth reflected in our state assessment results. Our students are achieving high levels across multiple grade levels and, in several key areas, exceeding state averages.”
District 52 continued to make significant strides in ensuring students met or exceeded the state’s goals in Math. District 52 outperformed the state average scores in Grades 3 - 8, meeting or exceeding standards in the subject area of Math.
District 52 also exceeded the state average scores in Grades 5 - 8 in the subject area of ELA. The trend of outperforming the state average in meeting or exceeding standards also continued in the subject area of Science in Grade 6. Based on information provided by the State Department, the overall state performance in Math improved significantly due to a focus on Tier 1 instruction and using data as a tool for improvement, elevation, and celebration. The State Department also highlighted the statewide progress made with pupils in poverty and setting high expectations for every student.
Dr. Taylor added, “These results demonstrate the impact of strong Tier 1 instruction, high expectations for every student, and the intentional use of data to identify opportunities for growth and celebrations of success. I am incredibly grateful to our teachers, staff, students, and families for their hard work and dedication. While we celebrate this progress, we remain focused on building upon these successes and continuing to raise the bar for every child.”
