My name is Michelle McConaghy, and I am currently serving as the Secondary Math Coach in Greenwood School District 52. I am originally from Connecticut where I spent 13 years as a teacher and coach. I received my Bachelor’s in Math and Computer Science in 2006, attending Southern CT State University. I obtained my Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education at the University of Bridgeport in 2008. I then continued on to receive my certification in Educational Leadership.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and our fur babies. We have 1 dog named Floyd and 3 cats named Henry, Ernie, and Sally.
I began my educational journey in Ninety Six, graduating as a Wildcat in 1992. I completed my undergraduate work at Erskine College in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I earned a Master’s Degree from USC in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University.
I began teaching in 1997 in Laurens School District 56. Over the years I have also had the opportunity to serve as a literacy coach, master teacher, assistant principal, and principal. I joined Greenwood District 52 in 2016. I now serve as the Director of Literacy and Elementary Education for our district.
I have lived in Ninety Six my entire life. I am married to my wonderful husband, Lee, and we have two children and six beautiful grandchildren.
