Agency Update
 
As of April 28, 2025, Act No. 3 of 2025 established the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), which now includes:
  • Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) formally DDSN
  • Office of Mental Health
  • Office of Substance Use Services
OIDD remains committed to supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, related disabilities, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
 
Autism Parent Support Groups
Hosted by USC’s College of Social Work Autism and Family Lab, these free groups (virtual and in-person) are available for:
  • Parents of Young Children with Autism
  • Fathers of Children with Autism
  • Parents of Autistic Adults
  • Autism Mothers
Led by trained peer facilitators, these groups offer education, emotional support, and a safe space to connect.

Youth Disability Benefits & Employment Workshops
These free workshops are for youth with disabilities (ages 14–25), their families, and service providers. They cover how employment can impact SSI/SSDI, debunk common myths, and connect participants with local support.
