Crisis Management

Greenwood County School District 52 prides itself on providing safety training to its entire district staff and students, including its day time contracted employees. The types of training staff and students receive are, but are not limited to, C.R.A.S.E. (Civilian Response to an Active Shooter Event), "i love you guys" Foundation, A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate), A.L.E.R.R.T. (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training), and many more. The training is provided by trained and certified instructors with the Ninety Six Police Department and SLED (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division). Also, the State of South Carolina mandates that every school in the state conduct at least two (2) active intruder drills per year (one per semester). The Greenwood County School District 52 conducts four (4) per year at each one of its school with a minimal impact on instructional time.
